Counselling – resolving personal issues

Counselling assists people to take control of the issues that may otherwise distract them from their work. People locked into problems find it hard to concentrate on quality or even the avoidance of accidents.

Counselling may focus on any matter of importance to the employee whether work related or otherwise. Examples include family disputes or marital problems, separation and/or divorce issues, parental problems, bereavement, the impact of financial difficulties, emotional distress presenting in depression, anger and anxiety etc.

Work related issues may cover conflict with work associates, the effects of organisational restructure, redundancy, job loss, loss of work colleagues, guilt etc.

Counselling provides informed support during crisis, assists the client to regain control of their situation and helps convert crisis into growth.

Working Relationships counselling can be provided on either a fee-per-session basis or a per capita formula. A maximum of six counselling sessions is typically provided per employee per contract year and covers counselling of immediate family members. Should more than 6 counselling sessions be required by a client, then they may choose to fund further counselling themselves.
